Dr. Toby Meltzer

Dr. Toby Meltzer graduated from Louisiana State University Medical School in 1983. He completed his General Surgery Residency at Charity Hospital of Louisiana. He went on to University of Michigan where he completed his Residency in Plastic Surgery. Following this, he completed a fellowship in Burns/Plastic Surgery at the Detroit Receiving Hospital through Wayne State University. Dr. Meltzer is board certified in General and Plastic Surgery. He started practicing at Oregon Health Science University in 1990 and currently practices in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.

Dr. Meltzer started doing a limited amount of Gender Reassignment Surgery (GRS) in 1991. In 1993, Dr. Meltzer revised his technique and it was at this point he began doing the procedure on a frequent basis. He now does approximately 150 cases per year. In addition to Gender Reassignment Surgery, Dr. Meltzer does a variety of procedures to augment GRS and still maintains a busy cosmetic practice. This includes but is not limited to, facial feminization, body contouring, breast augmentation, tracheal shave, and voice surgery. He and his staff have been presenting their time and expertise to Esprit for many years. Gender Reassignment Surgery

Dr. Meltzer will be presenting on male-to-female gender reassignment techniques. He will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the various procedures available. His discussion will focus on the Penile Inversion Technique Vaginoplasty, the second stage Labiaplasty, Body Contouring, Breast Augmentation, Cricothyroid Approximation (Voice Surgery) and Tracheal Reduction. He will provide question and answer time at the end of the lecture.
